Overview:

The responsibilities of this position are performed under the oversight the Senior Estimator.

The Estimator will secure and review bidding documents of public and private construction projects that range from $25,000,000. to $300,000,000.

The Estimator will prepare bid and proposal forms, reviews contract specifications to determine scope of work, process pre-bidding submissions such as Request for Interpretation (RFI) forms.

The estimator will perform manual and computerized quantity take-offs from blue prints and digital format plans, along with entering all data into computerized estimating software.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Review bidding documents, determine scope of work, perform quantity take-offs and prepare computerized estimates by developing cost assemblies and applying cost factors to the estimate.
2. Perform contract administration, job submittals and assist with estimating functions of contracts in process.

Skills and Experience Sought:

• Basic understanding of the Construction Bidding Process and Construction Contracts
• Experience taking-off Finish Schedules
• Good Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, Network, Internet, Email
• Good communication skills, verbal and written
• Minimum 5 years experience in working with Construction Drawings
• Experience with CAD, Digitizer, and On Screen Take-Off Software desired
• Good communication skills, verbal and written
